Thorigné-Fouillard, France and Ettlingen, Germany - December 1, 2020, 8:30 a.m. CEST - Kerlink(AKLK - FR0013156007), a specialist in Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, and SmartMakers, a leading provider of IoT solutions that help industrial companies improve their business processes, today announced their LoRaWAN Asset Tracking system. It enables companies to track the real-time location and status of their products and production systems. The solutions work both indoors and outdoors, allowing for a wide range of applications.

By combining Kerlink's Wirnet iFemtoCell indoor LoRaWAN Gateway and its robust Wirnet iStation outdoor LoRaWAN Gateway with LoRaWAN-based GPS Trackers and the thingsHub platform from SmartMakers, the IoT Asset Tracking system continuously monitors the position, condition, and status of goods, such as load carriers, shipments, containers, tools, and equipment.

The system generates real-time information, simplifying the work of logistics managers and operational teams. In large industrial facilities, the IoT Asset Tracking system also wirelessly delivers energy data from devices as well as pump and motor conditions, and monitors condition values and fill levels. In these custom LoRaWAN networks, battery-powered IoT sensors transmit these values over long distances and deep into buildings for several years, freeing company personnel from time-consuming condition checks and enabling automated processes that were previously not possible. The data generated forms the basis for future value chain optimizations and allows the operations team to make forecasts for increased delivery performance and competitiveness from a retrospective perspective.

Security and scalability of the LoRaWAN technology are ensured by the Wanesy Management Center from Kerlink, a carrier-grade LoRaWAN network server and the network management layer, ensuring reliable implementation and operation of private IoT networks with a few Gateways, as well as nationwide installations with hundreds of Gateways.

Business processes and entire supply chains can be improved through a quickly applicable IoT solution implementation and the thingsHub IoT Asset Tracking, which enables scaling from a local site to a global deployment.

The system can eliminate costs for manual inventory checks or barcode scanning and reduce delays in work processes due to missing parts or equipment by up to 80 percent. Additionally, it allows companies to increase the utilization of their logistical goods and resources by up to 30 percent.

"IoT Asset Tracking, designed for both internal and external supply chain processes, combines SmartMakers and Kerlink IoT technology to optimize asset tracking technologies,"

said SmartMakers CEO and co-founder Sebastian Stute.

"In addition to streamlining essential on-site business processes, it enables customers at the order processing level to know the locations of goods even between checkpoints, eliminating the need for personnel to update status through barcode scans and manual entries."

"Kerlink Gateways and the WanesyTM Management Center provide a secure and future-proof solution for developing smart applications, such as IoT Asset Tracking," said Kerlink Account Manager Etienne Ghidossi. "Our partnership with SmartMakers offers companies of all sizes a state-of-the-art solution that increases operational efficiency, improves customer service, and enhances return on investment."
